(KNSI) – As winter approaches, Anna Marie’s Alliance calls on community members to help keep pathways safe this winter season.

The domestic abuse shelter for women is asking for volunteers to help keep the walkways at their shelter and transitional home clear of ice and snow. The organization is looking for people who don’t mind braving the cold to help with shoveling and snow blowing after winter storms.

Whether you can commit to regular shifts or help out occasionally after major snowfalls, Anna Marie’s welcomes volunteers of all levels to help keep their facilities safe and welcoming throughout the winter.

Staff say the help makes sure that residents, workers, and visitors can safely get to and from the facility during Minnesota’s harshest months. Volunteers should come prepared with warm winter clothing and a positive attitude. The organization will provide all snow removal equipment and supplies.

Community members interested in volunteering or learning more about the opportunity can contact the community engagement and outreach coordinator by email at VictoriaW@annamaries.org or by phone at (320) 251-7203 ext. 252.
