(KNSI) – St. Cloud Cathedral Boys’ Soccer standout Jacob Oliver will have a chance to add to his record 2025 season Tuesday in the state semifinal round.

Oliver, a forward, already has the Minnesota State High School League all-time best 55 goals this year. He shows no signs of slowing down, having scored four in the state quarterfinals, a 6-2 win over Cristo Rey Jesuit.

Cathedral competes in Class A. They face Stewartville at U.S. Bank Stadium, home of the Minnesota Vikings, in the second semifinal. It is tentatively scheduled to kick off at 7:00 p.m., but it is dependent on what happens in the games scheduled beforehand. If Cathedral wins, they would get either Southwest Christian or Holy Angels in the championship.

It would represent a breakthrough for the program, which started 20-0 in 2024 before losing to Rochester Lourdes in the semis. The team also lost in the penultimate round in 2023, a 1-0 defeat to Pine Island/Zumbrota-Mazeppa. In each of those seasons, Cathedral would go on to win the third-place game.

The Cathedral girls are also still alive. Their semifinal is Wednesday against Watertown-Mayer.
