(KNSI) – Cold Spring city officials attended the Great River Regional Library board meeting on Tuesday to discuss relocating the branch inside city hall during renovations.
Staff at GRRL have reviewed a temporary site proposal from Cold Spring and have prepared a list of required building modifications. Cara Langston will present to the city council on Wednesday on the list. Administrator Kris Dockendorf says she has already spoken with the realtor for the site, and the current owner is okay with making the necessary modifications. An attachment to the city council packet shows alarms being added to one of the doors and windows being installed in five rooms.
There is also a proposal to bump up pay for members of the park board and planning commission. Meeting attendance would be compensated at $50 instead of the current $25. The salary for the city council would rise from $300 per month to $375, with the mayor getting an increase from $450 per month to $525.
The council will also consider greenlighting Braun Intertech to complete a geotechnical evaluation for the planned wastewater treatment plant expansion. The borings run between 25 and 50 feet deep and will be used to check if there is groundwater near the surface.
The meeting begins at 5:00 p.m.
