(KNSI) – The St. Cloud VA Medical Center will be participating in Medication Take Back Day on Saturday, October 25th.

A drop box will be set up in Building One near the main entrance to the complex. Both veterans and members of the public are welcome to stop in and dispose of unwanted or unused prescription drugs from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Medication Take Back Day is a national effort coordinated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. It was created to get expired drugs out of medicine cabinets, where they stand the chance of being stolen by family or friends to fuel addiction.

Walgreens and CVS drugs in St. Cloud are listed as partner organizations participating in St. Cloud. Many local police departments and area county sheriff’s offices operate prescription drug drop boxes year-round.
