(KNSI) — Cornhole, or bags, may be a staple of backyard get togethers, but this weekend in St. Cloud, it’s getting the professional treatment.

The 2025 Minnesota State Cornhole Championships are making their first-ever stop in town, taking over the River’s Edge Convention Center Friday and Saturday, October 17th and 18th.

This isn’t your average backyard game. Now in its seventh year, the State Cornhole Championships brings players from all across Minnesota for two jam-packed days of tossing, cheering, and plenty of friendly competition.

Friday is all about the singles with the Open, Competitive, and Social divisions, plus categories for Juniors, Women, and Seniors. Not sure which division to toss in? Organizers will help players find a spot on site.

Then on Saturday, it’s time to team up for doubles, with even more fun later on during the crew cup and co-ed tournaments.

Spectators get in free. Food, drinks and pull tabs will be available for purchase.

Craig Besco with Visit Greater St. Cloud says hosting the championships for the first time is a huge win for the community, calling it an event that’s just as much about fun and friendship as it is about competition. “We’re thrilled to welcome players and spectators to experience St. Cloud’s vibrant downtown and the hospitality our city is known for.”

Doors open at 8:00 a.m., with the action starting at 9:00 a.m. both days. Registration is available on site, or register ahead of time here.
