(KNSI) – The Sartell middle schooler who was severely hurt in a bicycle crash this weekend is being pulled off life support.
Police Chief Brandon Silgjord shared on Facebook Wednesday that Raghav Shrestha’s condition worsened overnight, with his team of doctors at Hennepin County Medical Center concluding that he had lost all brain activity. Silgjord asked the community to continue to support the family.
He said Raghav was cheerful and fun-loving, and he was doing exactly what you would expect a 12-year-old boy to be doing on an unexpectedly warm fall day, enjoying the outdoors at the park. For that reason, Silgjord writes the situation is difficult to comprehend.
Raghav had dreamed of becoming a police officer, so a team from the Sartell PD drove to HCMC and pinned him with his own badge to swear him in as an honorary officer before life support was turned off.
