(KNSI) – St. Cloud State University is ready to ramp up recruitment efforts as it looks to nail down its 2026 freshman class during Minnesota State Month.

All 26 colleges and seven universities in the Minnesota State system participate, offering perks such as waived or reduced application fees for undergraduate admissions. Just that one step could be hundreds of dollars in savings. Staff are ready to discuss scholarships and financial aid packages that could get total savings into the thousands.

St. Cloud State’s big tie-in is the 16th through the 18th, known as Discover Red and Black. The open house has plenty to appeal to those who are still casually considering potential campuses, all the way to students ready to sign on the dotted line.

On the tour, students are guaranteed to get SCSU merchandise and other cool prizes, including tickets to Huskies sporting events. Each touring group will receive a presentation from the admissions department, lasting approximately half an hour, followed by 90 minutes to explore the campus and attend a resource fair to learn about student organizations. A complimentary lunch in Garvey Commons is scheduled for afterwards.

More about Discover Red and Black is here.
