(KNSI) – St. Cloud easily cleared its previous record high on Monday, with the mercury soaring to 88 degrees in the 2:00 p.m. hour.
According to records listed by St. Cloud State University, the previous top figure for September 29th was 84 degrees, which had been done three times, including last year. The mark was first obtained in 1933. We were over and above that for several hours on Monday, first nudging even with it in the early afternoon.
Temps surged around 2:00 p.m. to 88 degrees and held steady through the 3:00 p.m. hour at 87.1 degrees. It wasn’t until a couple of minutes before 5:00 that the heat fell back to 84.
More records are possible later in the week.
