(KNSI) – Both Viking Coke and Landwehr Construction will bring business expansion proposals before the St. Cloud Zoning Board of Appeals on Tuesday.

Viking is looking to add on 5,669 square feet of new manufacturing space on the east end of its plant at 4380 8th Street North. To fit in the extra capacity, it is asking the city for a variance that would shrink the mandatory setback from 20 feet to 10 feet.

Viking would be required to reduce stormwater runoff and make improvements to its water treatment capabilities. The plant is expected to move to 24-hour per day operations once the extra automation comes online.

On the complete other end of town, Landwehr Construction has big plans of its own. It is requesting a Conditional Use Permit for its dealership at 800 33rd Street South to sell a used commercial vehicle fleet. An existing shop office would be converted into the new American Equipment Sales and Leasing dealership office to accommodate the increased business.

The Zoning Board of Appeals meets at 6:00 p.m. at St. Cloud City Hall. There will be a separate public hearing for each issue.
