(KNSI) – Central Minnesota’s largest coordinated volunteer effort is set to kick off today as the United Way of Central Minnesota’s annual Days of Caring gets underway.
From Monday, September 15th through Friday, 19th, 725 volunteers will fan out across St. Cloud and surrounding communities to tackle 97 projects benefiting 33 area nonprofit organizations through hands-on service projects designed to address critical maintenance and operational needs. Volunteers will be busy taking on duties such as painting, landscaping, doing yard work, and performing administrative tasks.
The campaign represents one of the most substantial volunteer mobilizations in the region’s history, according to organizers.
The event used to take place all on one day, but became a week-long activity during the pandemic and has remained that way ever since.
