(KNSI) – The St. Cloud Craft Beer and Cider Fest is embracing central Minnesota’s German heritage with the event’s first-ever Oktoberfest theme.

Now in its 10th year, the fun will run from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. for VIP ticket holders and from 2:00 to 5:00 for general admission passes on Saturday, September 13th, at Dick Putz Field. VIP ticket holders get an extra hour of early access, plus exclusive merchandise, including event t-shirts, hats, koozies, bottle openers, and golf balls.

The stadium will be filled with 40 different craft beverage vendors offering an estimated 150 to 160 different drinks to sample. “Remember, it’s a marathon, not a sprint,” said event director Cole Erie.

He emphasizes that despite the name, the festival goes far beyond just beer and cider. Erie told KNSI News everyone will find something they like at the event. “The cool thing about the craft industry is that it’s always ever-changing. So, just when you think you’ve had a sample of every single type of craft beverage that they make, there’s something new out there.”

Oktoberfest will be woven throughout the event, from Bavarian-themed food truck options to authentic German-style party hats for VIP attendees. Erie is encouraging all festivalgoers to dress up and embrace the day. “If you have some Lederhosen or you want to come in costume, by all means, we are definitely encouraging that.”

Live music by the band Way Up North will provide entertainment throughout the afternoon, while food trucks will offer Bavarian-inspired fare. Designated drivers are welcomed with $10 tickets that include a special t-shirt and access to non-alcoholic beverages and prize opportunities.

Part of ticket sales supports the United Way of Central Minnesota.

Tickets are still available and can be purchased through Friday at Coborn’s and Cash Wise liquor stores for the best prices, offering a $10 discount. Tickets are also available online or at the gate same day for full price.
