(KNSI) – The Central Minnesota Builders Association is hosting its Fall Tour of Homes featuring 17 residences built by 12 different builders across central Minnesota.
The tour will take place over two weekends, September 12th to 14th and September 19th to 21st. Friday hours are 4:30 to 7:00 p.m., while Saturday and Sunday hours are noon to 5:00 p.m. Homes on the tour are located throughout the region, including Avon, Cold Spring, Rice, Richmond, St. Cloud, St. Joseph, and Sartell.
CMBA Executive Director Wanda Schroeder told KNSI the group and local builders serve as advocates for the building industry, working with partners to address challenges facing home construction. “These are the folks that are members of the Central Minnesota Builders Association. They support the industry, and we’re constantly advocating for ensuring that the cost of housing comes down [and] isn’t over-regulated. We want to make sure everybody gets to live the American dream of home ownership.”
Schroeder explained the tour showcases work by licensed contractors who are required to maintain their credentials. “Our goal is to ensure that housing is safe. And it’s important that you always use a licensed partner for your projects. That’s one of the requirements of a Central Minnesota Builders Association member; they have to be licensed. We actually help educate them and provide some training for our members to make sure they keep that license up to date.”
