(KNSI) – St. Cloud residents will have the chance to talk face-to-face with school and community leaders about any safety concerns they have in the wake of the Annunciation Catholic School shooting.
State Senator Aric Putnam will host a panel discussion on safe schools and safe communities. The forum follows the recent tragedy at the church in Minneapolis as Governor Tim Walz weighs whether to call a special legislative session. He wants to push gun control measures such as bans on so-called assault rifles in the state and other restrictions.
The panel will feature key local officials, including St. Cloud Police Chief Jeff Oxton, St. Cloud Area Schools Superintendent Laurie Putnam, and Zach Dorholt, a mental health provider with CentraCare Health System.
The public forum is on Wednesday, September 10th, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Tech High School. It’s free and open to the public.
