Family of Annunciation Victim Reveal Funeral Details

(KNSI) – Funeral service details have been announced for one of the children killed in the Annunciation Catholic Church shooting last week.

Friends and family will gather at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis on Sunday to remember Fletcher Merkel. Visitation begins at 2:00 p.m. with the service at 4:00. Merkel, only 8 years old, was gunned down in the pews of Annunciation during a morning mass the first week of school.

Those attending are asked to wear bright colors, anything but black. Given the national profile of Merkel’s death, there is a lot of interest in the funeral across the country. The service will be broadcast online by the church via a livestream.

According to the obituary, Fletcher was survived by his parents, two brothers, and a sister, plus his dog, Clementine.

The family of 10-year-old Harper Moyski has yet to announce when her funeral will be.
