(KNSI) – A woman is fighting for her life, and a suspect is on the run after a stabbing in St. Cloud on Sunday morning.
According to police, they were called around 9:40 to the 400 block of 19 1/2 Avenue North and found the woman who had been stabbed. Life-saving measures were taken at the scene before she was rushed to CentraCare St. Cloud Hospital for treatment, where she was last listed in critical condition.
Investigators say 42-year-old George Washington Harris and the victim knew each other, but didn’t say how or give a motive. He fled the scene, and the Stearns County Sheriff’s Department was called in to help with a K9 track in the area, but Washington was not found. Harris is described as 5’11”, around 200 pounds, with distinctive lettering tattooed on the front of his neck. Anyone who sees Harris should not approach him as he is considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information regarding the incident or Harris’s whereabouts is urged to contact the St. Cloud Police Department at 320-251-1200, Tri-County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-255-1301, or visit online by clicking here.
