(KNSI) – Police are identifying the shooter at Annunciation Catholic Church as 23-year-old Robin Westman.
Westman posted a video manifesto before the attack on the church. Messages on some of the clips mock God for not stopping shootings, take aim at Israel and the Jewish faith. One has other famous school shooters listed on it. Another says, “Kill Donald Trump.” A different shot shows a target board with Jesus’s face placed on top. Westman speaks mostly in Russian in the video and sometimes uses Russian characters to spell words on an arsenal of ammunition and magazines spread across his bed.
Westman was born a boy but identifies now as a trans woman. Their name was changed when he was still a minor.
Two kids, ages eight and ten, were killed in the shooting. Seventeen others, including children between the ages of six and 15, and parishioners in their 80s were also shot. The shooting started not long after mass has started to mark the beginning of the new school year.
