(KNSI) – Stearns County is looking to address any concerns over its child care plan with minimal fuss.

The document covers 2025-2027 Child Care Assistance Program efforts. Mandated by the state, the CCAP allows flexibility for local governments to tailor priorities to the needs of the communities they oversee.

The program is designed for parents seeking a two- or four-year college degree while raising a family. Proponents say helping with child care costs removes a major barrier to continuing studies. Approximately 500 families are enrolled in the program in Stearns County.

The plan can be viewed here.

All comments need to be submitted by September 14th.
