(KNSI) — Tri-County Humane Society and the City of St. Cloud are partnering for a low-cost microchip clinic in conjunction with National Night Out.
The clinic will be on Tuesday, August 5th, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at 1010 Park, located at 1114 9th Avenue Southeast in St. Cloud.
No appointments are needed. The cost is $10 plus tax per microchip, and cash and credit cards are accepted. Pet Evolution will also be there with its mobile nail trim van.
TCHS says microchips are the only permanent form of ID for pets, and that little chip can add up to a big sense of security. It’s about the size of a grain of rice and is injected under the animal’s skin. When scanned, it provides the owner’s contact information. Microchips often help TCHS reunite lost pets with their humans.
The procedure only takes a few minutes, and the pet parent’s information is registered with the microchip company at the time of the appointment.
Customers can have their pets microchipped by appointment year-round at Tri-County Humane Society for $20 plus tax.
