(KNSI) — CentraCare St. Cloud Hospital has been named one of the Best Regional Hospitals by U.S. News.

The Best Regional Hospitals are “general hospitals – as opposed to specialty hospitals – that have earned a high performing rating in at least nine procedures and conditions. Across service lines and in quality measure after quality measure, the hospitals in this group collectively define excellence,” according to the report.

The hospital offers a full range of general medical and surgical services, earned eight or more ratings of high performing in the Best Hospitals – procedures and conditions study, and had at least five or more high performing procedures and conditions across those measured.

The U.S. News report highlighted adult specialties such as geriatrics, neurology and neurosurgery, pulmonary and lung surgery and urology.

The medical provider was also recognized for 19 procedures and conditions including,  abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, back surgery spinal fusion, aortic valve surgery,  heart bypass surgery, heart failure, colon cancer surgery, COPD, diabetes, heart attack, hip replacement, hip fracture, kidney failure, leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, pneumonia, prostate cancer surgery, stroke, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, arrhythmia, and pacemaker implantation.

“We are incredibly proud of this achievement, which reflects the dedication and expertise of our entire team,” said Joy Plamann, St. Cloud Hospital President and CentraCare Chief Operating Officer. “This recognition affirms our ongoing efforts to provide exceptional care and continuously improve outcomes for our patients.

CentraCare St. Cloud Hospital came in second, behind Mayo Clinic Rochester.
