(KNSI) –
The drunk driving suspect who allegedly killed two people in a multivehicle crash on July 2nd in St. Cloud has died from his injuries.
A press release from the St. Cloud Police Department on Monday also revealed that Christopher Cortez Johnson-Caine’s blood alcohol content was .309, nearly four times the legal limit.
According to police, an officer spotted the 26-year-old at 11:46 that night in a pickup truck speeding north on 9th Avenue with his headlights off. Johnson-Caine initially pulled over for the traffic stop onto 8th Avenue, but as the officer approached, he threw something out the passenger side window and took off. The item was eventually discovered to be a handgun. As the officer secured the weapon, a report came in that Johnson-Caine had t-boned another vehicle in the 1300 block of 10th Avenue North.
Inside that car was 59-year-old Suleiman Mohamud Abdi and 45-year-old Craig Arthur Hennen. Both men died.
