(KNSI) – Shutterbugs are encouraged to rush to find the perfect freeze frame to show off the St. Cloud region.

Beginning today, organizers are welcoming snaps from throughout the area that highlight natural landscapes, community happenings, arts and entertainment, fun, and architecture, among many others. Photographs can be submitted online through August 29th.

From all of the submissions across the many categories, three will be selected for a prize. First place gets $500, with runner-up at $300, and the bronze being awarded $200. NeTia Bauman, CEO and President of the Greater St. Cloud Development Corporation, says, “This is a great opportunity to celebrate the diversity and energy of our region through the eyes of those who live, work, and play here.” She adds, “We can’t wait to see the stories your photos will tell.”

The Greater St. Cloud Snapshot Challenge will accept entries taken within 25 miles of the city in any direction from Benton, Sherburne, and Stearns Counties. Anyone can submit, from residents to visitors and hobbyists. Pics from each of the four seasons are encouraged. On top of the cash prize, winning pictures may be used in marketing materials over the next year.

The full list of categories and information on how to submit a photo can be found here.
