(KNSI) – Golfers were swinging from their shoes both on the tee box and from their wallets at a recent scramble benefitting the CentraCare Foundation.
The nonprofit says 200 golfers and volunteers took to the Lynx National Golf Course in Sauk Centre on June 26th, raising over $125,000 for western Stearns County communities. In particular, the cash will be earmarked for CentraCare’s locations in Long Prairie, Melrose, and Sauk Centre.
Officials expect it will go towards new equipment purchases, the expansion of services offered, and other critical needs that may appear unexpectedly. CentraCare Foundation Vice President Holly Gulden says, “We’re so grateful to Arvig, our presenting sponsor, and all of our sponsors and golfers…I would just like to thank everyone for being out on the course.”
The first-place team for the morning session consisted of Matt McDowall, Ryan Trosdahl, Ryan Engdahl and Eric Van Heel. The foursome of Peter Kroll, Brady Rooney, Patty Cakes and Michael Heveron was best in the afternoon.
