(KNSI) – Last month ended up the 10th wettest June on record in St. Cloud.
Temperatures ranged from very hot to very cold, but it was consistently soggy. Officials with the National Weather Service office in Chanhassen say the station at St. Cloud Regional Airport logged 7.81 inches over 30 days, better than twice the historical average of 3.75 inches.
Luckily, despite the month’s heavy rainfall, no significant flooding occurred in central Minnesota. The Minnesota River at Montevideo, Morton, and New Ulm remains under a flood warning, as do parts of the Crow River, including eastern Wright County.
As much as umbrellas were needed in 2025, it doesn’t hold a candle to the cumulonimbi of a century ago. In 1920, St. Cloud was drenched to the tune of 10.56 inches in a dramatic deluge.
