(KNSI) — Fast reacting first responders likely prevented a tragedy Friday morning in Albany Township.

According to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, a call came in around 9:20 for a tanker that had skidded off the road and rolled over near County Road 156 and 330th Street. The sheriff’s office was helped by Albany Fire and Rescue, Avon Fire and Rescue, Mayo Ambulance, and Collins Brothers Towing, who arrived at the scene to find the truck on its roof in the north ditch, with the cab partially submerged in about three feet of water and the driver still inside.

The 52-year-old man from Sauk Centre was trapped and couldn’t open the doors. Firefighters freed him from the wreckage, and he was cleared on scene by paramedics and had no reported injuries.
