(KNSI) – An intense search is taking place near the home of assassination suspect Vance Boelter after his vehicle was found abandoned on a road close to Green Isle.
Boelter is wanted in connection with a pair of shootings early Saturday that targeted state Senator John Hoffman and Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman, and their spouses. Hortman and her husband died during the attacks.
The vehicle was discovered on Highway 25 near 301st Avenue in Faxon Township. Law enforcement officials are promising an update at 5:30 p.m.
They also disclosed Boelter’s wife, Jenny, and other relatives were detained near Onamia on Saturday. They were picked up outside a gas station and convenience store, according to Mille Lacs County Sheriff Kyle Burton.
