Handshakes With Heroes Postponed due to Weather

(KNSI) – The weather has postponed a second event scheduled for Thursday evening in the St. Cloud area.

Officials are calling off Handshakes with Heroes, which was scheduled for 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Benton County Fairgrounds. No makeup date has been announced yet, but expect one shortly.

When rescheduled, it will be a free event where families can check out K9 officer demonstrations, meet with law enforcement and first responder officials, and watch a live landing of the Life Link Helicopter. Bounce houses and food vendors will also be set up. Free-will donations will be collected to benefit the Greater St. Cloud Public Safety Foundation.

Sauk Rapids has postponed the second concert in its 2025 Rock the Riverside series. Bands Soupbone and Mystery Machine will instead take the stage at The Clearing in September.
