(KNSI) — The Women’s Fund of Central Minnesota celebrated another successful year as their ninth annual “Dancing With Our Stars, Live!” event raised an impressive $300,132 for women and girls throughout the region.
The competition brought together more than 500 community members at the College of Saint Benedict’s Escher Auditorium, where local stars took to the dance floor for causes close to their hearts.
The night’s big winner was St. Cloud Fire Chief Matt Love, who partnered with professional dancer Savanna Bain to support the Greater St. Cloud Public Safety Foundation. Their impressive fundraising total of $49,440 earned them the $15,000 first-place prize, and their performance captured the judges’ hearts, securing an additional $3,000 Judge’s Choice award. Combined with their fundraising efforts, the foundation received $67,440.
Kevin Johnson of K. Johnson Construction and partner Janell Missler claimed second place, raising $39,522 for the Tanner’s Team Foundation and earning the $10,000 second-place prize for a total of $49,522.
Rounding out the top three, Angie Hill from Minnesota Concrete Products danced alongside Michael Adams for Anna Marie’s Alliance. Their $28,352 in fundraising combined with the $5,000 third-place prize delivered $33,352.
Eunice Adjei of St. Cloud Financial Credit Union and partner Nick Benner raised $21,197 for the Tri-Unity Foundation, earning the $3,000 fourth-place prize. Ashley Green from Green Thumb Etc. and partner Jon Skuza brought in $12,483 for Open Hearts Home, Inc., while Abbey Graves of Abbey Graves Productions and partner Tuan (David) Le raised $6,386 for the Indy Foundation.
Each of the final three teams received $3,000 prizes, bringing their total contributions to $24,197, $15,483, and $9,386, respectively.
The unique scoring system weighted fundraising efforts at 60% and judges’ scores at 40%.
