(KNSI) – The 59th Annual Waite Park Family Fun Fest eases into its schedule Monday with the medallion hunt.

Clues are posted at 8:20 a.m. each day at the festival’s Facebook page and on the air of Leighton Media sister station 99.9 Lite FM. Family Fun Fest Committee Member Roxanne Ryan Layne says the community has some super sleuths, and those interested need to check out the clues daily to be the first to find the emblem.

Ryan Layne admits she isn’t skilled at scavenger hunts, but she says, “There are people who manage to find the medallion in two [or] three days. There are some good clue finders out there.”

Ryan Layne points out the prize for bringing in the medallion is worth the effort. “There’s a $250 Visa gift card, which would be awarded at the Community Park on Friday night, about 5:30, to the winner.”

Friday is the final day of the celebration. Other highlights include the Grand Parade on Thursday and Kids’ Day on Wednesday. KNSI News will have more information on all the fun planned as the week rolls along.
