“The Goonies” Hits the Big Screen Saturday Night at St. Joseph’s Movie in the Park

(KNSI) – The 80s cult classic “The Goonies” will hit the big screen at Millstream Park in St. Joseph for Saturday’s Movie in the Park this weekend.

Showtime is at 9:00 p.m. on June 7th.

The adventure comedy is about a group of friends who find a treasure map left by a legendary pirate. The evening coincides with the 40th anniversary of the premiere of “The Goonies” on June 7th, 1985. This is actually a make-up date due to a delay in May’s original showtime due to the weather.

The event is free, but attendees must bring a blanket and chairs. They can also bring their own snacks and drinks or buy them from the concession stand.

The film was picked by popular vote in a social media campaign held in February, beating out other films such as “Wild Robot,” “Moana 2,” and “The Mighty Ducks.”
