(KNSI) – An associate professor at St. Cloud State University has been appointed to serve on the Minnesota Statewide Independent Living Council.
The group provides support and advocates for services that allow people with disabilities to live on their own as grown-ups. Dr. Brian Valentini describes himself as passionate on the issue. “My experience centers around supporting young adults as they navigate the transition from high school to employment, pursue postsecondary education and work towards independent living.”
Valentini adds, “Being a part of the MNSILC is a perfect opportunity for me to align my efforts with these important goals.” He has been a professor at SCSU since 2018. Valentini holds a Ph.D. in special education from San Diego State University.
The appointment was made by Governor Tim Walz and lasts until January 2028.
