(KNSI) – The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota will dish out free meals while schools are out, thanks to the National Summer Food Service Program.
Starting June 2nd in Sauk Rapids and 3rd in all other locations, breakfast, snacks, lunches and suppers will be available at most KIDSTOP and Boys & Girls Clubs locations. All meals are available to children enrolled in the program.
“With the help of the SFSP, the Boys & Girls Club is able to ensure that kids across Central Minnesota are receiving healthy meals and snacks throughout the summer months, when school is not session,” said Director of Clubs Christine Kustelski.
Along with providing free meals, the sites offer a variety of age-appropriate activities to entertain children during the summer months. Activities include Summer Brain Gain, which keeps kids’ minds sharp with educational activities. Fine Arts, cooking, sports and more will allow kids to explore different interests and talents. There will also be numerous field trip opportunities.
The Clubs’ summer programming hours are Monday through Friday, 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The club locations are at Discovery School in Waite Park and the three St. Cloud sites, Eastside, Southside and Roosevelt Clubs and the Little Falls location.
Boys & Girls Club’s KIDSTOP sites are open from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. They’re located at Discovery School in Waite Park, Little Falls, and St. Cloud, which has three sites.
