(KNSI) – Becker Freedom Days includes fireworks, fun and a special tribute to service members.

Things get warmed up on Saturday, June 7th, with the Boy Scouts Troop 95 BBQ Bash rib contest. The week also consists of the Life in the Past Lane Camp for kids with the Sherburne History Center to experience what life was like in a one room schoolhouse. Sign up here.

Other activities include a medallion hunt and bubble party on Monday. A visual arts showcase and a taco in a bag lunch are in store for Tuesday. There’s senior bingo and a lawn concert with the Dollipops on Wednesday. Thursday is a drive through lunch at the professional building, a used book sale at the library, youth worship night, a bike roadeo and live music on the patio with The Rollie Show at Charlie’s Sports Bar and Grill.

Board President Mary Langley says the fully loaded fun starts Friday with the farmers market, classic car show and a collaboration for the Legion Block Party. “They normally have a standalone event, but this year, they’re going to team up with the Salute to Central Minnesota Veterans event, and it’s going to be on Hancock Street. So, it’s going to be a good time raising funds for central Minnesota veterans. We have amazing first responders that will be on-site and it leads up to Saturday’s big event.”

That day is the parade, which starts at 2:00 p.m. The main event starts at 3:00 p.m. with food, games, DJ, bounce houses, face painting, shopping and live music from Stone Road, thanks to Sherburne State Bank and Charlie’s Sports Bar and Grill. The evening ends with a 15 to 20-minute fireworks display. Sunday ends with a Father’s Day photo contest.
