(KNSI) – Metro Bus celebrated Thursday as it was honored with a Transit Innovation Award from TripSpark.
It recognizes Metro Bus’s commitment to using technology to improve riders’ experiences. Metro Bus says that in the past 10 years, it has allocated nearly $8 million in automatic passenger counters, route scheduling software, and real-time displays of each bus and its estimated arrival times at various stops at the Transit Center.
Metro Bus says it has also upgraded behind-the-scenes programs, including payroll and systems that can inform customers with vital information.
TripSpark hands out the Ignite Transit Awards annually.
