(KNSI) – The St. Cloud Fireworks Committee is making changes to this year’s show on multiple fronts.
First for the rocket’s red glare and bombs bursting in air, President Christina Buttenhoff tells KNSI Radio the fun will last longer. “We have opted to change our showtime a little bit this year and extend it. So, we’re going to go 20-25 minutes this year.”
The official watch party is being held at Wilson Park only. There will still be traditional favorites like food trucks, concessions, and live music. Buttenhoff explains the reasoning for switching things up. “It’s a lot of work on the city because they’re helping set up two different parks. St Cloud PD is having to split and cover both parks, water patrol, DNR, Stearns County, Benton County, because we’re on two different sides of the river. Just a lot of services involved.”
Hester Park is still available for spectators, but Buttenhoff warns 6th Avenue North will be closed, except for emergency traffic.
