(KNSI) — The National Weather Service says the St. Cloud area broke a weather record on Sunday.
As of 7:45 p.m., the official daily high hit 93 degrees. The previous record was 90, which was set in 1900. The Twin Cities also set a record high of 90, beating the old one by two degrees.
The hot weather will continue through Wednesday with highs in the upper 80s to around 90. A chance for showers and thunderstorms bubbling up along a cool front will ease fire weather concerns and bring needed heat relief with highs in the mid 70s Thursday and low 60s on Friday.
