(KNSI) — The Minnesota State Fair announced Hank Williams Jr. with special guest Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives will play as part of the 2025 Grandstand Concert Series on August 27th.
Hank Williams Jr.’s impressive resume has spawned 70 million albums sold worldwide, six RIAA-certified platinum albums, 20 RIAA-certified gold albums, 14 chart topping albums and ten chart topping hits. In 2022, he continued to redefine the boundaries of rock and country music with the genre-crossing, chart-topping release of his most recent album, “Rich White Honky Blues.”
With a career spanning more than 60 years, he continues to add accolades to an extremely impressive resume, which includes ACM Entertainer of the Year, CMA Entertainer of the Year and BMI Icon, in addition to a Grammy win and coveted inductions into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and Country Music Hall of Fame.
“Altitude,” Stuart’s newest album, was recorded in Nashville with his longtime band, The Fabulous Superlatives. The collection finds Stuart picking up where he left off on 2017’s “Way Out West,” exploring a cosmic country landscape. A Country Music Hall of Famer, five-time Grammy Award winner, and AMA Lifetime Achievement honoree, Stuart knows a thing or two about standing the test of time. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Mississippi, he landed his first big gig at the age of 13, and by 21, he was working on the road and in the studio with Johnny Cash. Over the course of 40-plus years as a solo artist, he has released more than 20 major label albums, scoring platinum sales, hit singles, and just about every honor the industry could bestow.
