(KNSI) — The Tri-County Humane Society is offering a low-cost microchip clinic for pet owners on Thursday, April 10th.

The walk-in clinic runs from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the shelter and requires no appointments. Microchipping costs $10 plus tax per pet. Pet Evolution’s mobile nail trim van will also be on-site, and the For Pets’ Sake Thrift Store will be open. The thrift store will sell gently used pet products such as collars, leashes, pet beds, apparel and accessories. All profits go to help the animals.

The TCHS says microchips provide a permanent form of identification, significantly increasing the chances of lost pets reuniting with their families. TCHS regularly uses them to help reconnect pets with their owners.

Microchipping is available year-round by appointment at the shelter for $20 plus tax for those unable to attend.

Tri-County Humane Society is located at 735 8th Street NE in St. Cloud.
