(KNSI) – A choo-choo commotion is playing out across St. Cloud area roads this afternoon.
A massive train is currently clogging up the tracks from the railyard just northwest of downtown St. Cloud, running to the south of Cathedral High School and out across the rail bridge that runs east over the Mississippi River.
The city of Waite Park put out a release that the locomotive will be heading through shortly. It will block 36th Avenue South at Highway 23 for over three hours. There will be no access to or from the highway between 2:20 and 5:30 p.m.
The suggested detour is Julep Road. Take it north to 33rd Avenue and loop around 2nd Street South past the Rusty Pick. 28th Avenue South will bring you back down to the highway.
