(KNSI) – The Albany Huskies Boys’ Basketball Team gets a surprise opponent in Friday night’s Section 6AA championship game.

Spectrum, which was penciled into the bracket as a seven seed, has already taken down the second and third seeds in back-to-back contests. But Albany is a different animal. Still undefeated, the Huskies are the undisputed top seed for Class AA in Minnesota. Their average margin of victory in the playoffs so far is 45 points against the likes of Rush City, Osakis, and Holdingford.

In the semifinals against the Huskers, Albany shot over 60% from the field as a team, racking up nearly 50 points in the paint while converting at a healthy 42% clip from beyond the arc. Multiple players got to at least 28 points.

The game is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at St. Cloud State University’s Halenbeck Hall. The winner punches their ticket to the MSHSL Boys’ State Tournament with three rounds scheduled for next week at Williams Arena, the home of the Golden Gophers.
