(KNSI) – A utility project requiring a lane closure in downtown St. Cloud has expanded.

Construction crews will close all lanes of 10th Avenue North between 1st and 2nd Streets for a private utility repair on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. The stretch is in front of Fire Station One.

The two southbound lanes will reopen on Friday, with a northbound opening under an alternating single-lane closure. Traffic won’t be back to normal on the stretch until February 28th, when work is expected to finish.

The timeline for the project is weather-dependent. Officials previously had said Thursday’s closure would affect only the northbound lanes.
