(KNSI) — A 49-year-old Albany man accused of sexually molesting two girls has been sentenced.

According to the criminal complaint, two girls went from their home in Fargo to stay with Billy Jack Wolbeck from March 1st through the 3rd last year. When the two girls returned home, the two told their mother Wolbeck had inappropriately touched them both under and over their clothing, exposed himself, and made one of them touch him under his clothing.

One of them, identified in court papers as Child A, told investigators the touching happened three times over that weekend. Once inside a camper, another in his truck and the third at his house. She also said he told her not to tell anyone. She told the other girl, identified as Child B, what happened and Child B said he did the same to her the weekend before.

Both victims are under the age of 14, and court documents say he has a “significant relationship” to them “as defined by statute.”

Wolbeck was initially charged with one count of first degree criminal sexual conduct and three counts of second degree criminal sexual conduct. An amended criminal complaint filed in October added five more criminal sexual conduct charges. He was convicted on two counts of second degree criminal sexual conduct. The other six were dismissed.

He was facing at least 25 years in prison for both charges. Judge Andrew Pearson sentenced Wolbeck to a total of seven years in prison but stayed the sentence for 25 years, which temporarily suspends the execution of the sentence as long as he follows the conditions of his release. He was also sentenced to six months in the Stearns County Jail and if he is eligible, six months on work release. Wolbeck also faces a lifetime of conditional release after his sentence ends.
