(KNSI) – St. Cloud area residents answered the call and raised more than half a million dollars for three local food shelves.
Between November 25th and December 31st, the Central Minnesota Community Challenge collected around $519,000. That includes a $150,000 match through the Norman C. Skalicky Foundation. The proceeds will go to Catholic Charities, the Salvation Army and St. Joseph food shelves.
Greta Stark-Kraker, Executive Director of the Central Minnesota Community Foundation, says she’s grateful to the community for making this year’s Community Challenge a success.
Since 2000, the CMCF has partnered with various organizations to host a fundraiser that will support our area’s food shelves during the holiday season. Over the years, more than $7.2M has been raised for the three organizations.
