(KNSI) – The Cold Spring City Council will start 2025 with two significant infrastructure votes on Wednesday evening.
Public Works Director Jon Stueve will recommend purchasing a Versa-Vac trailer at a cost of over $275,000. The mounted vacuum would be used at the wastewater treatment plant to snake pipes and suck up any loose debris that builds up during operations.
The council will also look at finally kickstarting improvements on Main Street, which has been looked at since the fall of 2023. The scope of the work has grown, and so has the cost estimate, now at $700,000. Crews would do a complete rebuild, including sewer and water infrastructure replacement and repaving.
Most of the construction would occur on the west side of town, from Red River Avenue to 10th Avenue North. A sliver of the road near the Quarry Cinema, where it bends just east of the Sauk River, is also part of the plans.
The meeting is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at the municipal center.
