(KNSI) – The Initiative Foundation’s Enterprise Academy has added 14 new graduates to its alumni network.

The entrepreneurs all live in the central Minnesota area and are hard at work in turning their ideas into startup companies. The course gives each student access to a consultant to refine their business plans. Participants learn how to keep proper financial records, develop a marketing strategy, among other lessons.

In return for building their skills, they can access financing with flexible terms that will aid them in their success. The course takes about 12 weeks, or just under three months, to complete. Students enrolled in the most recent class to break into a variety of industries.

Several were in the rideshare or transportation fields. Another wants to be a barber. Some of the most unique ideas were to add a campground onto the family Christmas tree farm or get into jigsaw puzzle making.
