(KNSI) – The Minnesota Department of Health reports 1,323 new COVID-19 cases and nine deaths Wednesday.
This includes 150 new cases in the five-county St. Cloud area. Stearns County records the most with 52 new cases. Benton County adds 17 cases, Morrison County 11, Sherburne County 34 and Wright County 36.
The state processed 25,776 COVID-19 tests on Tuesday, and 5.1 percent of those tests came back positive.
Meanwhile, Minnesota is making more progress in its vaccination effort. The latest figures show that 1,454,834 Minnesotans have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. However, some parts of Central Minnesota are lagging behind. While MDH estimates that 26.2 percent of Minnesotans have gotten at least their first dose, only 16.4 percent of Benton residents and 15.9 percent of Sherburne residents have been vaccinated. Wright sits right behind the 20-percent mark at 19.8 percent. 24 percent of Stearns residents and 23.4 percent of Morrison residents are partially or fully vaccinated.
