Candy Cane and Cocoa Party Turns St. Cloud Into North Pole on Saturday

(KNSI) – The biggest happening of the holiday season will, appropriately enough, take place at the Holiday Inn and Suites in St. Cloud.

Leighton Events is throwing its annual Candy Cane and Cocoa Party on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Executive Director of Events Cole Erie lays out some of the fun planned.

“Santa’s going to be there. So, you can write a letter to Santa, you can hand-deliver it to him, if you want. Get a picture with the Big Man. There’s going to be gingerbread men cookies you can decorate. There is going to be hot cocoa. There’s going to be a reindeer dance party.”

Erie likens the event to going to the mall and meeting Santa as a kid. He believes the Candy Cane and Cocoa Party is the best Christmas-themed gathering in the area.

“If you guys haven’t seen Santa yet. If you have little grandkids, kids, who are excited to get a chance to see Santa, take a picture with him. Let him know their list. This is that event.”

Mrs. Clause will be there, too, reading to those in attendance. You can make holiday-themed crafts and decorate stockings to hang by the chimney with care. And there are opportunities for lots and lots of photos. Tickets are $15 for one adult and one child. All other family members get in for just $5 per person.
