(KNSI) – City crews have called off a planned tree removal on Kilian Boulevard due to Thursday’s extreme cold.
The work was scheduled to occur between 8th and 9th Streets in the southeast section of town. Work trucks would have blocked the northbound lane of Kilian for no longer than one day. Real temperatures were -8 degrees at the anticipated 9:00 a.m. start time. Even with the sun shining, it felt like it was below zero.
No makeup date has been announced yet for the project. When it does happen, a detour will be posted.
