(KNSI) – St. Cloud is the center of the world for the state’s next generation of ranchers and growers.
The Minnesota Future Farmers of America Leadership Conference is calling the city home Monday and Tuesday. More than 600 students enrolled in FFA are in town competing in Leadership Development Events. The winner will qualify for national competition in 2025.
Individual contests include public, extemporaneous and FFA Creed speaking, Ag issues forum, Farm Bureau discussion meet and employment skills. Teams are also competing in the Ag issues forum, as well as conduct of meetings and parliamentary procedure events. FFA members are also attending workshops and participating in career development activities.
Activities are taking place at St. Cloud State University, Kelly Inn and St. Cloud Technical College.

The winner of the Conduct of Chapter Meetings LDE is Dassel-Cokato FFA.
Winning the top honors in Creed Speaking, sponsored by the Paul Hansen family, is Katelyn Runge from the St. James FFA.
For the Spanish Creed Speaking LDE, congratulations to the winner Adriana Orozco from Highland Park FFA.
The Employment Skills LDE is sponsored by National Grid Renewables, and our winner is Taylor Berkner from the Sleepy Eye FFA.
The winning FFA member in Extemporaneous Speaking is Luke McCrea from the Bethlehem Academy FFA. The award is sponsored by the Minnesota Farm Bureau.
The Parliamentary Procedure LDE is sponsored by Kevin and the late Nancy Dahlman and representing Minnesota at next fall’s National FFA Convention is Dassel-Cokato FFA.
The award for Prepared Public Speaking went to Lilly Kallevig from the Sleepy Eye FFA. This LDE is sponsored by Robin E. and Lori Ann Kinney.
The Minnesota Farm Bureau Discussion Meet winner is Abby Bauer from Medford FFA.
The Ag Issues Forum winner is Litchfield FFA.
The Hutchinson FFA Chapter earned second place in the Ag Issues LDE.
