(KNSI)—Waite Park will hold its Truth in Taxation hearing for the 2025 budget on Monday night.
It is the first regular agenda item and will give the public an opportunity to weigh in on what is a nearly $13.3 million financial blueprint for next year. The budget is a 5.8% increase from 2024, while the overall levy is set to jump by 9.8%. That is the result of growth in the tax base plus a 4.8% bump in the proposed tax rate.
The council will consider the points made during the hearing before the budget is finalized and adopted on December 16th. The meeting will also have a public hearing as part of the required five-year review of the North Quarry Conditional Use Permit. Staff says they have experienced no issues with the property.
