(KNSI) – Minnesota reports 1,152 new cases of COVID-19 and, for the first time in almost a year, no new deaths statewide Monday.

The last time Minnesota had a day without any new COVID-19 deaths was on April 13th, 2020. This excludes Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day, when the Minnesota Department of Health reported new cases and deaths the day after those holidays.

The state did report 11 new deaths from COVID-19 on Saturday and Sunday, bringing the state’s death toll to 6,782.

For new cases, Benton County adds 13, Morrison County 15, Sherburne County 25, Stearns County 46 and Wright County 23.

Minnesota processed 19,381 COVID-19 tests on Sunday for a one-day test positivity rate of 5.9 percent.

As for vaccinations, MDH estimates that 25.7 percent of Minnesota residents (1,430,349 people) have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. This includes 78.9 percent of Minnesotans age 65 and older.
